Liberal Studies BA or BS (UW-Whitewater)
UW-Whitewater offers an on-line major in Liberal Studies which allows students to complete their coursework by taking web based courses in a shared learning environment. The Liberal Studies Program offers students a broad-based education that gives them the skills necessary for a wide range of career opportunities and the flexibility to adapt to today's rapidly changing employment environment. The program includes study of a variety of disciplines-the arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences-that enable students to develop a global view of the world, a capacity for critical thinking, and a fundamental understanding of human nature, society and values. In addition, the program helps students develop the skills and abilities that employers consider most important: problem solving, analytical thinking, interpersonal relations and communication skills, among others. These are the skills that provide the flexibility to advance in your current career, to adapt to a rapidly changing employment environment, to learn new skills, and to enhance your opportunities for success in whatever field you choose.
The Liberal Studies Program can be pursued as a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree.
