Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) Master's Emphasis (UW Oshkosh)

This 37-credit master's degree in nursing CNL emphasis prepares students for advanced nursing roles in varied healthcare settings. Theory courses are 100% online. Clinical practica experiences are arranged using students' preferences in collaboration with cooperating healthcare agencies. Students meet end-of-program CNL competencies set by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and the AACN Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing. Graduates are eligible to take the CNL Certification Exam.

Admission Requirements

  1. Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program;
  2. Current licensure as a registered nurse;
  3. 3.0 undergraduate GPA;
  4. Undergraduate statistics course (at least 3 credits) that includes descriptive and inferential statistics taken within the last 5 years (grade of B or higher);
  5. Three professional letters of reference;
  6. Application to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Office of Graduate Studies and the CON supplementary application;
  7. Oral interview
